Croeso! Welcome! To Tirwyddan
Croeso! Welcome to Tirwyddan, which has recently been renovated and awarded a 5* rating by Visit Wales. Tirwyddan is set in a tranquil location near the golf course but is a mere 500 yards from the centre of the pretty, flower-filled town of Criccieth in North Wales, a regular winner in Wales in Bloom.
Criccieth, traditionally called the pearl of the North Wales coast, is situated on the Llyn Peninsula – a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The original mediaeval town grew in the shadow of the 13th castle, developed as a Victorian seaside town and has now blossomed into a thriving seaside town with a wide range of shops and excellent restaurants while remaining largely unspoiled.
The beauty of Llyn ranges from long, sweeping beaches like Abersoch and Llanbedrog with their colourful backdrops of brightly painted seaside huts, to picture-postcard perfect fishing villages like Porthdinllaen. There are magnificent views from rocky cliffs tops, and you can view wonderful sunsets in the far west as the sun dips into the Irish Sea. Seals and dolphins can be seen swimming in the waters around the peninsula, and rare birds like the chough spotted flying overhead. Little wonder that the National Trust describes the Llyn as one of the jewels of Wales. If you tire of the coastline and beaches, then a short drive takes you into the stunning scenery of Snowdonia National Park.
You can relax on the beaches, wander through little villages, stop for meals or a drink in pubs, cafes and restaurants with wonderful views, or explore the many historic sights at castles at your own pace.
If it is action you are seeking there is no shortage of adventure centres to get the adrenalin pumping. The area is a sporting paradise and there are lots of attractions to keep both young and old entertained. You can find more details of all the sporting activities and other attraction to be found in the area by following the links on the website.
Tirwyddan provides warm, welcoming 5* comfort in a tranquil location close to Criccieth town centre. .
